Number one favourite spot … apart from home would
be the local stadium. That’s a pretty special spot for me I mean I’ve spent a lot of
hours there and shot a lot of shots and a lot of
great memories there. That’s where I grew up
playing basketball and learned how
to play the game and have won some
local comp titles there. Initially I think it was … like I thought they
were just messing with me. And then I was like
‘Ah nah, like it’s a bit much.’ But, you know I think if it’s
good for the kids to see you know I’ve grown up playing
there or people come to the town for the local tournament or camps
or things like that it’s a good thing. It was a great place to grow up. Played all different kinds
of sports with my mates. Basketball was always number one. It was a great place to grow up. I always do a local basketball
clinic there and to see how many kids roll up each year, it seems
like it’s growing every year so that’s pretty cool to see. I mean when I was
growing up as a kid when somebody would do a clinic
or … the Boomers played one time in Bendigo and I went
over and watched and … Andrew Gaze must’ve been the last
one for the bus but he stayed there and you know signed autographs
and took photos with the kids and I know how much that meant
to me when I was 10 or 12 years old. So if I can make somebody’s day
at home it’s a pretty cool feeling. It was always a dream of mine to represent Australia
at an Olympic Games. The 2000 Olympics was
when I was in grade four and 10 years old so that was
yeah, something that I’d had written down a long time ago.
