CASE LIKE THIS. LAST YEAR, THE PALISADE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM WAS TWO WINS AWAY FROM IMMORTALITY. THE BULLDOGS WON 11 GAMES AND REACHED THE CHSAA STATE SEMIFINALS, BEFORE LOSING TO EVENTUAL CHAMPIONS, PALMER RIDGE. NOW… THE BULLDOGS ARE BACK ON THE FIELD… AND THERE’S A LOT RIDING ON THE 2019 CAMPAIGN ALREADY. THE FIRST PRESEASON POLL OF THE SEASON PLACED PALISADE THIRD IN THE STATE IN 3-A… AND YOU CAN TELL FROM TODAY’S PRACTICE, THE GUYS ARE LOCKED IN TO THIS SEASON. HEAD COACH JOE RAMUNNO TOLD ME TODAY THE BULLDOGS RETURN A LOT OF TALENT… BUT THEY LOST SOME DEPTH FROM THE 2018 TEAM. SO THE FOCUS IS ON CONDITIONING… MAKING SURE THE GUYS ARE HEALTHY AND PREPARED FOR THEIR FIRST MATCHUP IN SEPTEMBER. AND AS FOR THE GUYS… IT’S NOT ABOUT REACHING THE PLAYOFFS YET… BUT ABOUT GETTING THROUGH THE SCHEDULE WITH A WIN IN EVERY COLUMN. “I make it very important that we do the right thing and make sur everyone is in the right spots. Out here to have fun play football, and I’m motsly here for my team. We have a lot of young guys stepping into big roles this year. Just gettin better each week, going 1-0 each week is our goal.” SENIOR QUARTERBACK CAM TUCKER THERE… GOING TO BE A BIG PIECE OF PALISADE’S PUZZLE. HE CAN RUN AND PASS THE BALL IN THE BULLDOGS OFFENSIVE SCHEME… AND SCORED FIVE TOUCHDOWNS IN PALISADE’S FIRST PLAYOFF GAME IN 2018. THE BULLDOGS WILL START THEIR SEASON ON THE ROAD AGAINST THE DURANGO DEMONS, FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 6TH AT 7PM. Let’s get down to business.
