My name is Ross Bjork, the Athletics Director
at the University of Mississippi. Welcome to the M-Club room here on the most
beautiful campus in all of higher education. Here at Ole Miss, we host 14 varsity sports,
including 6 men’s and 8 women’s teams. We are proud of our history of success including
three national championships in football, 43 SEC titles, and countless NCAA tournament
appearances such as the 2014 College World Series Semi-Final, and back-to-back Bowl victories
in 2013 and 2014. In fact, in 2014-15, we were the only university
in the nation with an appearance in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, college baseball
World Series, and a New Years 6 Bowl Game. Our Men’s basketball team also captured
an SEC tournament championship in 2013 and our women’s soccer team completed a top
4 finish in the SEC tournament, and a top 32 finish in the NCAA tournament. Our men’s
tennis program has made the NCAA tournament 21 years in a row.
On top of our team accomplishments, we also have many individuals who succeed at the highest
level. We have Sam Kendricks who won back-to-back NCAA poll vault titles in 2013-14. Also, Brittney
Reese won the 2012 Olympic gold metal in the long jump.
Growth and excitement are part of the vision for Ole Miss Athletics and we cannot wait
to open up the new basketball arena in December of 2015. The arena will have the ability to
host concerts, convocations and of course be the home of Ole Miss Basketball.
As you can feel it’s a great time to be a Rebel. We hope that you join the Ole Miss
family and be apart of the energy, the passion, and the excitement that is Ole Miss.
Hotty Toddy and Go Rebels!
