Indian Super League kicks off inaugural match, hopes to raise national football

Finally, the Indian Super League kicked off
with a glowing opening ceremony and first match between two of its biggest cities.
Almost 70-thousand people packed Salt Lake Stadium for a glitzy spectacle of dancing,
singing, and fireworks… after which the home team, Atletico de Kolkata thrashed Mumbai
City FC, 3-0. The league′s hoping its aging European veterans,
Nicolas Anelka, Freddie Ljungberg, Del Piero and others, will help draw support.
There are also hopes that the league will assist in developing their national side,
currently ranked 158th in the world. That′s all I have for now. Stay tuned for
the weather, up next. Have a great night.
