We welcome you to
Oxford, Mississippi, midway through the
2019 SEC Soccer slate. We’ve got a great one for you
here on the SEC Network Plus. The Ole Miss Rebels
at home trying to hand the Florida Gators their first
conference loss here in 2019. Lindley again with Grace
Johnson just outside the 18 yard box and then
a shot from Alexander. A second straight match
with a goal for her. The junior out of Dorr,
Michigan getting involved offensively, putting the
first score up on the board. It’s one, nothing Florida. Over 80 minutes per match, Michalak gonna put this one
in the box from distance. The run from the Rebels, and the last touch came off
the foot of Channing Foster. And we’re gonna get a
celebration out of Foster! Wow! Worth noting for Ole Miss
as well, Grace Johnson not out there to start
the second half. Took a knock early
on in the first half, and Maddy Houghton done for
the season with an injury. And then the equalizer
by Florida quickly after! It’s Lindley on the far side. Lonnie Mulligan looking
for offense right away, works around one
defender, takes a shot and Ole Miss is up 2-1. And you made a very
interesting point and I’ll build on
that in just a second. Mulligan’s first
goal of the season. You have to say. Cross on, headed into the back
of the net by Molly Martin. We’ve said it once before,
we’ll say it again, that is her job,
winning the air balls and this one puts Ole Miss
on top of the #19 team in the country, 3-2. Final 10 seconds, that ball’s
gonna squirt out of play and Ole Miss is gonna
hand the Florida Gators their first loss in
conference play here in 2019. They haven’t beaten
Florida since 2009. 3-2, the final
score here tonight. What an extraordinary
show of character from the Ole Miss players. They weren’t supposed to
do this. They did it. Just the third time
Ole Miss has ever beaten the storied
Florida Gators program.
