BECAUSE OF THAT FACT. I NEVER LOOK AT THE OTHER SIDE. I DON’T EVEN KNOW THAT’S THERE. TCU HAD A DISAPPOINTING SEASON LAST YEAR, BUT DON’T BE SO QUICK RIGHT THEM OFF THIS YEAR. THE FROGS ARE LED BY THE SECOND LONGEST TENURE COACH IN ALL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL, GARY PATTERSON. HE WON’T STOP BARKING UNTIL TCU IS ACONTINUE OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL. GARY PATTERSON HAS TURNED MANY DOUBTERS INTO BELIEVERS DURING HIS 19 YEARS AT TCU. WE’RE THE GIRL NEXT DOOR THAT HAD PIGTAILS, THAT HAD A CRUSH ON YOU, BUST YOU DIDN’T PAY ATTENTION TO YOU, AND THEN YOU WAKE UP AND SHE’S GOING TO PROM WITH SOMEBODY ELSE, AND SHE’S BEAUTIFUL, AND SHE’S GROWN UP. THAT’S TCU. WE’VE GROWN UP. Reporter: FOR COACH PATTERSON, SUCCESS DOES NOT COME WITHOUTRY NICE. HERE IS THE GRIND. I HAVE THREE SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS OFF TOGETHER FOR THE FULL YEAR LAST YEAR. SO YOU THINK YOUR WIFE WOULD PUT UP WITH THAT? GARY WANTS TO BE THE BEST, AND OUR GOAL HERE TO WIN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, AND WE HAVE TO CONTINUE TO GROW. Reporter: COACH PATTERSON ALREADY HAS A LIFETIME OF ACHIEVEMENTS, INCLUDING THAT UNDEFEATED 2010 ROSE BOWL SEASON. HE WON THE BIG 12 IN ONLY HIS THIRD YEAR IN THE LEAGUE, AND ON TOP OF THAT, HE HAS HIS OWN STATUE. HE HAS IN PLAN ON RETIRING ANYTIME SOON, BUT HAS A GOD IDEA OF WHAT HIS POST COACHING CAREER WILL LOOK LIKE. I THINK IT WILL PROBABLY BE COACHING AND TEACHING DRIVER’S ED AT SOME SCHOOL IN KANSAS. THAT’S WHAT I DID WHEN I STARTED WAY BACK WHEN. I’LL NEVER RETIRE. IT WILL BE TO RETIRE FOR SOMETHING.
