So in order for you and me to use the app,
I would have to, you know, you would have to have the app and I would have to have the
app. I’ve been raised that nothing good in life
comes easy, and if you want something bad enough, you find a way to make it work. Like, there’s been nights where I’d be up
and I’d, you know, be in the library all night and then I’d have to go to the fieldhouse
at like 5 a.m. and just sit there until the doors open at 6 a.m. because I got weights
at 7 a.m. It just goes back to that notion that ‘how
bad to you want it?’ Like, do you want something that’s worth something,
do you want something that if things don’t pan out the way you want them to, you have
something else that you can fall back on that’s strong. And I just wanted to make sure I have options. I’m a very analytical person as it is, that’s
just how I’ve always been. I’ve always like analyzing and breaking things
down and seeing how things work. And beyond contrary belief, football is a
very analytical game. A lot of people just think we’re just out
there running into each other, smacking each other in the head and scoring touchdowns,
but there’s a lot of study, like film study. You’re feeding your brain, your brain is a
muscle. And if you don’t work it out, then you can’t
expect for it to do the things you need it to do. If I wanted to be really good at football,
I needed to be really good in the classroom. When I get ready for an exam, it’s like I
get ready for a game. I put my music on, I start, you know, bobbing
my head, I’m getting focused, I’m getting ready, I’m getting in my zone, because I’m
going to go at this like I go at a game because I want to be the best at it, I want to do
my best because you don’t want to put in all that work and not get the fruits out of it. My goals and aspirations, of course, are to
play in the NFL, by God’s grace, and really just help build this brand as far as Charlotte. For a long time, a lot of people don’t know
about Charlotte, what we have going on, how advanced we’re getting, how our student body
is growing, just look at everything around us, we’re building up buildings like every
day, it seems like. We have the light rail, we have so many things
that are coming to the city of Charlotte, and it would help if we had somebody who can
be that frontward guy that people can say ‘oh, so he went there.’ And it could just help the city, the brand
and the school just get that much bigger. I’m just trying to be the best that I can
be in all honesty. Like, I’m just trying to be the best I can
be.
