with DICK’S Sporting Goods and this is your Pro Tip on the No Step Field Goal Drill.>>Merritt: The key coaching points on the
No Step Field Goal Drill, we’re going to talk about body position, knee position and
foot position. At point of contact when we talk about the
body, we want the body as tall as possible and upright when we strike the football. Our knee position with our kicking leg needs
to be locked out when we strike the ball. And our foot position, we need to have the
toe extended all the way and our leg extended about 2 o’clock away from our body in a
good balanced body position.>>Merritt: When we take our back swing, our
kicker wants to make sure that the best he can to get his shin at a parallel angle to
the ground. So, we’re going to stop. His plant foot never moves throughout the
entire drill, and he is going to take his swing through the football striking the bottom
third of the football up through the top third.>>Merritt: And that is your Pro Tip on the
