MARK: THE POLO AND SOUTH DODD LOTS — WHICH ARE NEAR THE MEDICAL CENTER WILL BE PERMANANTELY SHUT DOWN IN JUST A FEW WEEKS. BOTH LOTS ARE LOCATED ALONG OR NEAR CANNON DRIVE. MARK: NBC4’S TYLER CARTER JOINS US LIVE FROM CAMPUS… WITH MORE ON WHEN THIS PROJECT IS GOING TO START, AND WHERE YOU SHOULD BE PARKING INSTEAD. TYLER: ON GAME DAYS THIS LOT THAT I AM STANDING IN — THE POLO LOT IS FILLED WITH FANS. BETWEEN THE POLO AND THE DODD LOT IT HOLDS 21-HUNDRED PARKING SPOTS. OSU ATHLETICS SAYS FANS DON’T NEED TO PANIC, THERE ARE ADDITIONAL 21-HUNDRED SPOTS ON CAMPUS TO MAKE UP FOR THE ONES THEY ARE LOSING. CONSTRUCTION TO RENOVATE CANNON DRIVE IS SET TO BEGIN SEPTEMBER 4TH. — SEPTEMBER 9TH IS OSU’S FIRST HOME FOOTBALL GAME AGAINST OKLAHOMA. MIKE PENNER , OSU ATHLETICS: “THIS WILL BE A SEASON LONG PLAN. OKLAHOMA IS OUR FIRST HOME GAME SO WE ARE DEFINITELY FOCUSED ON THAT GAME.” A SEASON LONG PLAN THAT WILL FORCE FANS WHO WISH TO PARK IN THE DODD AND POLO CAMPUS LOTS FOR FREE TO A NEW LOCATION. MIKE PENNER , OSU ATHLETICS: “WE HAVE CAPACITY IN THE 9TH AVENUE GARAGES AND WE KNOW WE HAVE CAPACITY IN THE CARMACK LOT.” MIKE PENNER, WITH THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT, SAYS THERE ARE OVER 18-THOUSAND PARKING SPOTS ON CAMPUS. HE SAYS THERE ARE WELL OVER ENOUGH PARKING SPOTS TO ACCOMMODATE THE ROUGHLY 85- THOUSAND FANS THAT WILL ATTEND THIS YEARS GAMES. SO HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW IF YOU PARK IN THE CARMACK LOT AND 9TH AVENUE GARAGE. A GAME DAY SHUTTLE WILL PICK FANS UP FROM BOTH LOCATIONS FOR A 15 MINUTE RIDE TO THE STADIUM.
